James has over 25 years of investing and capital markets experience. He previously spent close to a decade at Colony Capital, where he was senior analyst, co-portfolio manager, and portfolio manager of long-short and long-only funds focused on global REITs and real estate securities. James has also recently invested in RMBS, CMBS, and commercial real estate and land development projects on behalf of a family office. James began his career in 1995 in the Real Estate Principal Transactions Group at PaineWebber and was a Vice President responsible for international acquisitions at Madison International Realty, a private equity firm. James has a BS in Commerce from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
